DJ Kandeke, known for managing popular musician Yo Maps, landed in legal trouble after pleading guilty to being a nuisance while drunk.

Dj Kandeke Arrested nn February 3, 2025, Kandeke fired gunshots at Bojangles nightclub in Ndola. The incident happened at 03:07 hours when a club patron, Chikoti Mulendwe, stepped outside to take a phone call and heard the shots. Bouncers quickly stopped Kandeke and handed him over to the police.

The Investigation
Mulendwe informed investigators that Kandeke, who was clearly drunk, fired the shots and even pointed the gun at him. This caused panic at the club. Police later collected cartridges from the scene as evidence.

In court, Kandeke claimed an unknown person provoked him. He admitted his mistake and promised to avoid such behavior in the future.

“I was wrong. I have learned something from this incident,” Kandeke said.

Magistrate Brian Simachela fined Kandeke K300, which he must pay within 24 hours or face six months in prison with hard labor. The court also ordered him to surrender his firearm and ammunition for 60 days. Kandeke can apply for their return after this period.

Magistrate Simachela questioned the decision to charge Kandeke with a minor offense instead of threatening violence, considering he had pointed a gun at someone.

“The facts state that he pointed a gun. Why was he not charged with threatening violence?” the Magistrate asked the prosecution team.
